During my internship rotations, I gained firsthand insight into the challenges many patients in Nepal face in accessing consistent and quality healthcare. Patients from different regions often travel long distances to urban centers for specialized treatment, yet many struggle to continue follow-up care due to geographical, financial, and time constraints. During my rotation in Internal Medicine, I observed preventable complications of chronic conditions such as diabetes resulting from irregular follow-ups. Likewise, many patients were unable to return for follow-up visits because repeated hospital visits were not feasible for them in terms of time and cost.
These experiences highlighted the need for more accessible and sustainable healthcare solutions. To help bridge this gap, we introduce Telemed—an online platform designed to connect patients with doctors remotely and support continuity of care beyond hospital visits. We welcome your valuable feedback and invite you to join us in building a more accessible, patient-centered healthcare system.
